Designer Statement

My love for graphic design started from the love I had for photography. I began taking pictures at an early age. My first camera was a purple Kodak Ektralite 10. From that day forth, I was capturing images. I eventually evolved to a SLR film camera which led to a DSLR. During this time I was working at Office Depot in their Copy and Print Center. There I was introduced to business cards, flyers, and other advertisement material. My love for photography began to pair up with the work I had to create for the clients in the copy center.

While working at the Print Center I learned a lot about layouts, color combinations, and design. I then researched schools in my local area and eventually received a certificate in Graphic Design from Living Arts College School of Communication Arts. After graduating from LAC, I started designing logos, business cards, and other advertising material for local businesses. I later decided to go back to school to achieve my Bachelors in Graphic Design from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

While at NCA&T, my passion for branding and advertisement has grown. I enjoy creating images that display a powerful message that all can grasp. My design pattern is very simply and clean cut. I love lines and order. My favorite tool is Illustration because it gives to the freedom to play around with letters and shapes.
